RIVERSIDE: Adults naïve to bullying, forum speakers say

Adults only see about 4 percent of the bullying that kids episode, speakers said at a lecture titled “Skilfulness and Preventing Bullying and Cyber Bullying.”

Almost 700 people, mostly educators, attended the 23rd annual Dr. Richard Boylan Reminder Lecture presented by the Riverside Medical Clinic Understructure this week.

If parents, teachers or members of adherents staff see an instance of bullying, it has to all intents happened almost 100 times before, household therapist Jon Pease said.

Bullies have too much self-like and not enough empathy. Bullying is more often perpetrated by the “sedateness kids” and student athletes, he said.

Parent University shares ideas and connections

More than 170 parents and educators emit their morning Feb. 4, connecting with each other and scholarship from speakers on a range of parenting topics at the 15th Annual Fountain-head University.

Parent Community Network, a volunteer network of parents and educators, sponsored the all-day community upshot which included more than 20 speakers discussing and sharing their suggestion on how to help children and youth be salubrious, safe and resilient. There was also time for attendees to rivet and interact together and visit tables from limited community organizations. Speakers also provided lists of earmark recommendations.

More than 86 percent of the attendees indicated they would return for the 2013 Progenitrix University (scheduled for early February).  All demagogue evaluations were very positive. Some of the comments received count:

“Love it so much! I think it is well run, graciously desirable, and essential.”

Q&A: The who, what, when, where, and why of TEDxSomerville

TED Talks have surprised and civilized people around the world with lectures by scientists, writers and historians. Now a resident version – TEDxSomerville – has a bank of townsperson speakers for an event on Sunday, March 4 at the Arts at the Armory. The all-day in any case goes from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., but in fiat to attend you have to apply ahead of in good time always and fill out a questionnaire before buying a ticket.
