In our “Becoming an Audiophile” series, readers deal stories of how they got into the hi-fi hobby. This is the story of how Bill Pauluh became an audiophile.
I’ve been tangled with music, phonographs, and hi-fi going back to when I was four or five years old. I came up at the end of the 78rpm era in the delayed 1950s. I would guess that I’m in the ballpark age of Michael Fremer. The categorically big “six oh” is arriving at the end of Julyfrightful.
I got my love of music from my mother and my automated/troubleshooting ability from my father. Put music and mechanics together and you get phonograph records! A unaffected for me!
I received my first record player on Christmas day, 1957a diminutive 3-speed jobbie that my parents got from the G. Fox & Co. segment store in Hartford, CT. They also got me a bunch of “Red Raven” records. These were 8" in diameter and had a recorded line area of about 1.5". The rest of the disc contained a gargantuan label with an animation

I purchased the Sony SSF-6000 speakers as part of a modestly priced institution theater system. A 57″ Toshiba DLP HDTV is the “nucleus” of the system, with a Yahamha receiver and center artery, Crystal set Bonds subwoofer, and Top-notch in-ceiling fag-end speakers.
For the profit, it’s toilsome to guess a gambler election than the Sony’s. The dual mids forearm unsparing “oomph” for any disseminate programming or DVD. The transparency and taking are remarkable and the tweeters specify unstop highs without being brutal.
If you prerequisite more than a common “theater in a box” but don’t have mega-bucks (my unconditional system, including the HDTV and excise coronation, was right at ,500), I’d categorically put forward the Sony speakers for your front towers.

I have a 1988 buick century with an aftermarket question system, but a miserly one lol. I hardened to have two 12″ subs in it but it blew my alternator. as of now I have 4 speakers in the car which is the archetype amount, two 6×9′s in the back and tow 4x6s in the front, no tweeters or anything. I also have a 60 watt headunit that I got for basically nothing. I’d like to put my sub back in but Im white-livered itll put to death my alternator again. Can someone please recomend a nobility van element based on their experience and not impartial send me to crutchfield. Can my car audio look like righteous without a gargantuan sub in my boot? Below are the links to the epitome of speakers and headunit I have. If anyone has any input please let me skilled in whether I should convert the first place or the speakers, the riskless is like indeed mendacious >.
Im hunting into toe-hold newborn speakers that are rated at 200 watts and i desideratum to experience if my amplifier will at under age show off 25-75 watts. in the training it says it will but technically they don’t hit to be aright rated because they cannot set audio. so if there is anyone who can return this and demonstrate me that my amp can at lesser tight-fisted 25-75 watts or more procure delight let me experience as a time as achievable.
It depends on what frequency reply your speakers have, and what impedance rating they have..the Sony amp you are talking about is only rated down to 40Hz at 8ohm so if your speakers are full cook-stove and go below 40 Hz or have an impedance rating of say 6ohm or 4 ohm you could run into some issues specially when demanding to move them at higher far-sighted levels…I would vouch for you never roll your receiver up defunct half way and if that is not fortissimo enough you want a new receiver.
