2012 Honda CR-V EX-L

There is nothing exceptional about the 2012 Honda CR-V; this car is an excellent example of moderation. Although an SUV, it is far from a monstrosity truck. Its all-wheel drive and proper ground clearance make it proper for snow and slight off-road conditions, but not crawling up the sides of canyons. And its four-cylinder locomotive gives it all the power it needs, but no more.

Honda made some updates to the car for the 2012 scale model year, but nothing that would move it outside its moderate mandate. Although the wheelbase remains the same, the CR-V in actuality loses a little height and dimension. Honda may have feared the CR-V was on the verge of becoming extremely muscular.

But it remains an eminently practical mechanism. Although smaller than most SUVs, it features room for five and ample cargo area. I was extraordinarily impressed by how the rear seats folded furnished room at the pull of a lever in the back of the car. The manner in which the seats pucker is an engineering trick borrowed from the Fit.

I recently took a false step to Birmingham, Ala., to attend the second annual Eats Blog South seminar. The speakers included Jennifer Cole, features rewriter for Southern Living; Virginia Willis of Virginia Willis Culinary Productions; Kara Nielsen of the Center for Culinary Evolvement; branding and marketing specialist Lisa Ekus of The Lisa Ekus Guild; Dianne Jacob, author of "Will Make out for Food"; and Kat Kinsman, managing journalist of CNN Eatocracy.

There were 185 food bloggers in gate with 10 presentations offered throughout the day. The itinerary was set up so that guests had to opt between two events scheduled at the same time. That bummed me simply a little because I really wanted to serve all of them. Groundhog Breakfast speakers: Business mixed, education up

NEWARK --In the sorrowful and chill of the early morning, more than 630 people gathered for the 56th annual Groundhog Breakfast presented by the Licking County Nook of Commerce.

One of the main facets of each year's breakfast is the mercantile forecast made by community leaders gathered at Adena Lecture-hall on the Newark campus of Ohio Report University and Central Ohio Complex College.

This year's prediction was a bit of a varied bag, but overall, there was optimism.

The panel of four community leaders was comprised of Mike Jones, conceal manager of Momentive Performance Materials; Bonnie Coe, president of Prime Ohio Technical College; Kathie Morrison, co-proprietress of Buckeye Winery; and Jay Winegardner, president of Traffic One Inc.

Jones touted increased hiring in the manufacturing sector with imports down and rising labor costs in abroad countries as steps in a positive route for the U.S. economy.

With trucking as an early with of economic activity, Winegardner said his business, in turn, uses the corrugated box business as an indicator, and those businesses they deal with are down by 10 percent. The trucking commerce also constantly is fighting an "avalanche of regulations," the set someone back of which ultimately are passed along to the consumer.
