NAMM 2012 : Yamaha has made its spectre felt at NAMM by announcing a set of two of compact mixers that offers cross-breed analogue/digital mixing in a diminished footprint.

January's NAMM truck show sees Yamaha launching the MGP series of mixing consoles. As 2012 marks the 40th anniversary of Yamaha's first analogue cheer up and the 25th anniversary of its first digital console, it is an usurp time for the company to launch a series of condensed mixers which make optimum use of both technologies.

Capitalising on the big name of the MG series consoles, the MGP series comprises two models, the MGP12X and MGP16X, which mutatis mutandis offer 12 and 16 channels of compound analogue / digital mixing in a very little footprint of (respectively) 348mm and 447mm wide, by 495mm booming.

A standout feature of the MGP series is Yamaha's new unattached Class A microphone preamps which, together with the proprietary X-pressive EQ, arrest the ultimate in analogue authenticity and breed the unique frequency characteristics of sought-after paragon EQ modules. Much more than just a means of tweaking a mix, X-pressive EQ is a tough sound-shaping tool, which gives the MGP series an arousing dynamic range.

Barrett-Jackson: Galpin Widebody Mustang Sells for $160000

Among the top headliners at the 2012 Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Connoisseur Car Auction was a one-of-a-kind 2012 deviating-body Mustang it built by Galpin Autosports for SPX Corporation. A good will auction, the car sold  for $160,000 with all of the proceeds benefiting the St. Jude Children’s Delve into Hospital.

The hand-built specially Mustang had been seen a number of prodigal-profile auto shows across the mountains including the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show and the SEMA Show in Las Vegas. After nationwide promotional efforts, which included features in a number of print, digital and broadcast outlets, the car was at the ready to raise money for children in difficulty when it arrived on stage on Friday evening.

To originate the special car, GAS looked to the 1969 Mustang BOSS 429 for incentive. Part of that inspiration included a hand fabricated all-metal extensive-body that stretches the vehicle nine inches wider than a cache Mustang, giving the car an even more aggressive look. The larger bodywork required bigger wheels and tires to proportionately fit the new welfare of the car. After being lowered with Ford Racing discharge springs, Forgiato 22×14 ass and 21×11 front three-piece GTR wheels were mated to 335/25/22 and 295/25/21 Pirelli tires.
