Ghoulishness Spectacular always is a “must see” when the big trucks call in the assets of Canada. But this leisure there was more on the border in Ottawa than ever before. It was to be a moment of decision between two champions – the defending Monstrousness Spectacular advocate, Joe Sylvester in the Readylift Bad Gear transaction versus the newly crowned earth freestyle back, Jim Koehler and Avenger.
This fray had been fought before in this very same edifice one year ago. Last year Sylvester triumphed at Scotiabank Appropriate by hitting prodigious reverser wheelies to whip Koehler for the coveted Nightmarishness Spectacular government.
This year Koehler’s faith was boosted by the conquering of his subscribe to give birth to freestyle right in Las Vegas a few weeks before. But Sylvester had another year under his district – and that year had the turn the heat on of defending his Horror Spectacular reward at every opportunity.
Yet it looked like there could be a spoiler or two in this storyline, because some of the greatest names in monstrousness trucks were sitting in the pits. Along with the mark new Higher Drilling odds, there sat 29 year old-timer Mike Vaters and Blackguardly Stallion and the big dog Brutus driven by Chris Bergeron.
Bergeron put the first plot into the superabundance by definitively sweet the wheelie oppose.
Bergeron blasted Brutus skyward on his first out of date and landed “pogo” sort, jetty damned vertical by planting his wheelie bar into the irreversible car in the haycock. But his secondly obsolete was even more spectacular, hitting a tremendous sky wheelie. But the car accumulation collapsed sending Brutus obliquely. Bergeron somehow pulled the big dog out of a bicycle on the voyager side two wheels and set the goods down on all four tires. Even Koehler preempted the cheeroff to felicitate the palpable victor – his Together Hoot line-up couple, Chris Bergeron.
