sub + amp questions -
Adamant to get a sub with an amp for my car, but had some questions.
don't go about prices. i get sweetmeat deals through drudgery.
anyway, I'm looking at the Kicker 2x compVR 12" subwoofer box - comes with both 12" subwoofers and the corral. The amp that I'm planning to double with this is the Kicker ZX400.1, a mono amp rated at 400w RMS @ 2 ohms. The sub box is ready in either 2 or 4 ohms, and this is where I got a doll-sized all balled up. I discern that I can wire 2x 4 ohm woofers to a put 2ohm mono amp, and I'm under the dent that two 4 ohm subwoofers with an RMS of 400w each would be skilful to run on a 400w RMS mono amp rated at 2 ohms. Is this befitting? If it is, would I neediness to re wire the heart of the sub box if I got the 4 ohm kind? I'm befuddled. I'm also assuming that the box only comes in a 2 ohm form for people who don't call for to rewire anything and have an 800w mono amp.
Also, if I don't settle on on this sub box, would I be bettor off usual with the 2x compVR 10" sub box or the separate compVR 15" sub box? prices are corresponding for me, and the compVR 12" are $15 more dear than both of those.
If you get the 2ohm type, look for an amp that will give you 600-900W RMS @ 2ohms. (The Kicker ZX750.1 fits the bill nicely, btw.) If you get the 4ohm translation (which I would back against) then you will want an amp that gives you 600-900W RMS @ 4ohms. The Kicker ZX1500.1 would labour, but is quite definitely a bit more valuable, and may never be hand-me-down to its full undeveloped.

I put one of these in my Jeep and it sounds incomparable! pleanty of thump. My trouble thinks it’s too snazzy. So went and bought a gather stud to check the loudness. It’s a significant sub and it’s pelagic rated so no worries when I have the top down. It’s positively marvellous the amount of poor that comes of such a raw-boned woofer. I extremely propose it. it sounds louder than the three MTX 12″ subs I had in my Mustang!
